Golf in South America

Golf in South America has been growing slowly but steadily over the last 10 years

Argentina is a premier golf destination, and has more golf courses than any other South American country. The country is beautiful, the resorts are civilized, and there are many great courses in all of the scenic regions of Argentina. Golf can be plaid all year round in most places, but to the south, in Patagonia and Mendoza, there is no golf in the winter months between May and September.

The number of Brazillian golf courses is increasing rapidly and there are now over 100 golf courses in Brazil. Compared with other places in the world this number is not great, but 10 years ago it was less than half the number and some of the places in Brazil where you can play golf are quite unique.

Golf resorts have grown in popularity in Chile in recent years, and the increased interest in the sport has seen the development of better golf facilities in Chile. All in all there are a little more than 60 golf courses in Chile, almost all of them private. In order to play most of these courses, you must be a registered guest at one of the several hotels/resorts that offer golf to their customers.
