Top designers including Nicklaus, Faldo, Montgomerie, Feherty and Dye have helped creating a modern range of championship courses that go well beyond the standards expected of many golfing resorts.
The area has a great choice five star hotels, all-inclusive resorts and villas bordering the beach and set among forests of pine and eucalyptus.
Golf was introduced to Turkey already at the end of 1800s, with the first club founded in 1895 being the Istanbul Golf Club. Today there are golf courses not only in the Belek area, but along most of the Mediterranean coast, like for instance Antalya and Izmir. Also the capital Ankara has golf clubs.
